Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The body of 60-year-old Prabha Nath was discovered in a forest in the Maheshtala area of Kolkata on Friday night. Police sources have confirmed her identity and have taken her son and daughter-in-law into custody for questioning.
Neighbors report that Prabha had ongoing disputes with her son over a house. It is alleged that her son and daughter-in-law frequently physically abused her. Prabha Devi also has a daughter who lives away from home for her studies.
Residents claim that Prabha was murdered on Friday night. Her body was then packed and hidden in the nearby forest. Upon receiving information, police recovered the body on Saturday night and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
The community alleges that Prabha Devi's son and daughter-in-law are responsible for her murder and subsequent disposal of the body. The police are currently interrogating the accused to gather more details.
